Helmeringhausen Airstrip

Kindly note that we do not offer charter or private flight services.

Helmeringhausen Hotel offers access to a private airstrip, providing convenient arrival for guests travelling by light aircraft. Our airstrip is privately owned and operated, featuring a 900-metre gravel runway. It is unlicensed, unregistered and unmanned and is intended for use by suitably equipped aircraft at the pilot’s own discretion and risk.

Bookings & Arrivals

Advance booking is essential, all enquiries and landing requests must be made at least 2 days prior to arrival. The airstrip is available exclusively for approved guests and visitors.

To make an equerry kindly contact Mr Björn Basler directly by clicking on the “make an enquiry” button bellow and not the hotel for all airstrip-related communication. Kindly note that the hotel reception and “Book Now” form are not applicable for airstrip arrangements.

Transport

We are pleased to offer transfers between the airstrip and Helmeringhausen Hotel.

Please note that transport to other destinations is not available.

Fees

  • Landing Fee: N$ 250 per aircraft
  • Transport Fee: N$ 60 per person
  • Landing and Transport Fee Complimentary for over night hotel guests

Conditions of Use

To ensure safe and responsible operation, all pilots are required to:

  • Complete and sign an indemnity form prior to landing
  • Confirm that they have familiarised themselves with the airstrip conditions and surrounding environment
  • Ensure the airstrip is suitable for their aircraft type and weight
  • Comply with all Air Navigation Regulations (ANR) applicable to unmanned airstrips
  • Avoid overflying the hotel and surrounding buildings

By using the airstrip, pilots indemnify Helmeringhausen Hotel & Guest Farm, its owners, agents, and staff against any loss or damage to aircraft, property or persons, howsoever caused.
